Jackson

Official Site

Jackson Township, established in 1844, is located in the geographic center of New Jersey, and is equidistant between New York City and Philadelphia. Jackson is traversed by Interstate Highway 195, which runs from west to east connecting Trenton, the capital of New Jersey, to the Jersey Shore, and which intersects both the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. Jackson Township has three (3) exits off I-195, making the location of your business easily accessible to State Regional and World Wide markets.

Although predominantly a bedroom community, Jackson is fast becoming a tourism destination. Jackson is home to Six Flags Great Adventure, Wild Safari Park and the newly constructed Hurricane Harbor, the three greatest amusement parks in the Northeast. Also located on route 537 is the Jackson Premium Outlets, a factory outlet, with 71 stores in total, including marquee stores such as Brooks Brothers, Bass, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Donna Karan, Harry and David, and Nautica, just to name a few. Other tourism attractions and businesses include historic Rova Farms resort, Top Gun Paint Ball and some of the best R.V. parks in New Jersey, such as Butterfly Campground, Tip Tam Campground, Indian Rock Campground, Maple Lake Campground, and Timberland Lake Campground.

Considering its size (100 square miles with a population exceeding 51,000 Jackson is still a close-knit community, boasting two senior high schools, two middle schools and six elementary schools. The Ocean County Library system constructed a new “state of the art” facility, next to Jackson’s Justice Complex.

Key to Jackson’s past and its future potential is its many waterways and its abundant underground water supply. Jackson is partially located in the Pinelands National Reserve. Many homes in Jackson are on wells, but the Jackson Municipal Utility Authority services several sections of Jackson. They have recently extended sewer service across town to Great Adventure and have just broken ground on a new water facility, specifically intended to service the town’s nearly 2,000 acres of industrial and commercially zoned properties. The centerpiece of our commercial expansion is the Vista Center, which is a business and office complex located at exit 21 of I-195, next to the Metedconk National Golf Club. Once water service is complete, the commercial zones and Vista Center will have all the resources you need to locate your business here in Jackson.

Served by four Fire Departments, a paid and volunteer First Aid Squad, and a highly professional 70-member Police Department. Jackson is a safe place to live and to operate a business. This contributes greatly to our quality of life. In the July, 1997 issue of Money Magazine, the Monmouth/Ocean County area, including Jackson, were recognized as the third best place to live in the country.

Obviously, Jackson is a great place to relocate your family and your business.
